To supplement the sequestered carbon from Kyoto compliant plantations, carboncredex through a project named Oil Audit has additional emission reductions generated by a refined oil reduction program. This reduction in consumption program was initiated broadly in the first week of March 2008 hand will generate emission reductions of over 1 million tonnes of CO2e per annum whilst saving the disposal of over 500 million litres of refined oil. Additional benefits by the reduction in consumption accrue through the cost savings in disposal, refining, re-refining and storage and the attendant life cycle costs and imposts such as the illegal disposal and contamination of groundwater.
