RENEWABLES

There are many definitions for Renewable Energy but we believe that the Regional Wood Energy Development Programme in Asias definition more than adequately states the case in sustainability terms.

“Renewable energy: Any form of primary energy [energy form as it is available in nature], for which the source is not depleted by use. Wind and solar are always renewable, biomass can be renewable if its consumption is matched by the re-growth.

Non-renewable energy refers to any form of primary energy, the supply of which is finite and hence its use depletes the existing stock. It generally refers to fossil fuels.

Secondary energy: Energy after conversion in a form ready for transport or transmission.”

It is with this definition in mind that CCE requests the feedstock source in its biofuels register.

The following list is used by CCE for the register
